Joe Manson, 65, never expected to become a truck driver. In the 1990s, he worked in menswear while he traveled to Sydney where he met his wife and moved from Western Australia. He continues to have a successful marriage which has lasted 36 years while he builds his successful career.
Joe started his trucking career in 1996 when he worked as a local delivery driver who operated a rigid truck before he advanced to his current position which involves interstate driving throughout Australia. He worked as a truck driver until he joined Truck Moves Australia which he has worked for more than 10 years.
Joe said that this job marked his longest employment period. The workplace has excellent employees who receive backing from their supervisors while they enjoy actual job autonomy.
Joe currently drives trucks which he delivers across the United States to transport vehicles between auction sites and dealerships and customer locations.
He stated that his work schedule brings him different experiences every day. He uses new trucks on some workdays and second-hand vehicles on other days which make him experience modern vehicle technology that behaves like cars.
Joe especially prefers driving on extended routes because it lets him explore different parts of Australia.
He stated that his work sometimes resembles a vacation. The work requires no stress because I need to perform well and maintain the truck while delivering at the scheduled time. This job represents the greatest position I have ever held.
